Blind Lemming Chiffon Press Kit (November, 2004)

Mr. Chiffon, or Lemmo as he is known to his Marxist friends, is a blues comedian and noted parodist who has recorded enough material for three CDs, and things are currently in the tidying-up, fund-raising and solving-legal-problems-with-parodies phases of production. A CD of blues-oriented material, Cliff Notes, is recorded, mastered and ready for production. Demo copies are available to industry professionals. A follow-up blues CD, Wake Up Crazy, as well as a CD of original parodies, Songs For Raging Children, are well under way and expected to be finished and ready for production any time now.

What does the name mean?
BLC can see quite clearly. He is "blind" in tribute to such great musicians of the past as Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Willie McTell and Blind Boy Fuller. The lemming is a Norwegian rodent with a mythical propensity for self-destructive cliff diving. Chiffon is merely the icing on the cake.

Past Gigs:
  • Venues played include Swallow Hill, Arts Alive festival in Conifer, Mile High Coffee songwriter's showcase, Penny Lane, and dozens of coffee houses, house concerts, private parties, etc.
  • Was Interfilk guest at FilkOntario 2004, a science fiction folk music festival.
  • Played in concert at Noreascon 4, the 2004 World Science Fiction Convention.
  • Opened for Michael Hurley (who has recorded with the Holy Modal Rounders) on last-minute notice at the first-ever concert in the Swallow Hill cafe. Has opened for and accompanied John "Dreams of the Lost Tribe" Davis, including once when John opened for Cosy Sheridan. Opened for Jeff and Vida at a Cajun Dan house concert.
  • Objects strenuously to use of "shared stage with" in performer bios. BLC has played at one time or another on many stages (including a crazy night at Red Rocks in the 70s before they tightened up security) and has technically shared those stages with everyone who has ever set foot on them. Thus, he has shared a stage with The Beatles, Pete Seeger, etc., etc. BLC has also shared the planet with Albert Einstein, Brahms, Ghengis Khan and Philboyd Studge. But that's entirely beside the point.

Radio Play:
Harry Tuft (Denver Folklore Center) once played a BLC track on KCUV, a great new acoustic music station in Denver.
